Mary Travis, LPC I am a PROUD mother, dog-mom, and US Navy Veteran. I love spending time with my family, camping, and cooking! In my spare time, I also enjoy supporting my Veteran community and participating in their various organizations and activities around the state of Texas. I began my clinical career working with a foster care agency, providing therapy and crisis intervention. I would later work at a private practice where I worked heavily with Veterans who suffered from PTSD and depression. My years of experience in trauma work with adolescents and adults has given me a passion to help people heal from the trauma they've experienced. I believe in the effectiveness of a strong therapeutic relationship. My goal is for all of my clients to walk in, sit in the chair across from me, and feel as if this is a safe space that promotes healing.
I rely heavily on the efficacy of EMDR when I work with clients processing unresolved trauma. I am passionate about the healing journey for my fellow Veterans, other adults, and adolescents and truly believe in the process.

I hope that I will be able to lend a hand and an ear to help make that process easier.
I have experience in crisis counseling, trauma-informed practice, anxiety/depression, grief & loss, and behavioral interventions. I am here to assist you on your journey to health and wellness and utilize our time efficiently to meet your therapeutic goals.

Shirley Sykes, LMSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate and currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. Before beginning her formal education, Shirley spent six years in the U.S. Army as a Human Intelligence Collector, during which she gained Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and personal courage. Shirley has enjoyed providing mental health services to clients coping with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, PTSD, and various other mental diagnoses during the past three years. Shirley is experienced in working with individual, group, and family counseling. Her style of therapy is from the Narrative theory, aiming to separate the individual from the problem, allowing the individual to externalize their issues rather than internalize them. She believes it is essential for clients to understand they are a part of the solution and not the problem. Shirley’s narrative style counseling allows her to help the client gain and maintain resilience in overcoming trauma and negative emotions. She achieves this using the four principles of Narrative theory; understanding reality is socially constructed, understanding that reality is influenced by and communicated through language, understanding how having a narrative can help us organize and maintain our reality, and there is no objective reality or absolute truth. These principles assist Shirley in empowering her clients to understand how they are telling their story, separate themselves from the problem, break the problem down to be manageable, see their life challenges in a more positive perspective, and make new meaning of their lives in the world. She employs various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused therapy, and Jungian.

Nicki Prevou, LMSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate with expertise in brain science, epigenetics, challenges associated with chronic illness and disability, and a focus upon somatic healing from trauma. Born in Portland, Oregon, and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Nicki graduated from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas and spent several years working in communications and research before graduating from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Master of Social Work degree.
Nicki has worked with children, adolescents, and adults to offer solution-focused, strengths based therapy. While supporting clients in identifying, claiming, and employing their personal gifts and abilities, Nicki has experienced the privilege of witnessing true transformation in the lives of those suffering from depression, anxiety, complex PTSD, addiction, and other mental health issues.
By working with tools such as those offered through the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) research and experts such as Kristin Neff, Brené Brown, Tian Dayton, Gabor Maté,, Bruce Perry, and Daniel Siegel, clients are able to embrace a shift towards wholeness, compassionate self understanding, helpful re-framing of their life choices and experiences, and improved abilities in self-regulation and connection with loved ones. With the belief that it is never too late to repair and restore attachment capabilities, Nicki offers therapeutic care that is based upon the principles of Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), a systemic approach to healing developmental trauma. Focusing upon the concept of Post Traumatic Growth (PTG), it is possible for survivors to reclaim their sense of joy, purpose, resiliency, and ability to move forward in achieving life goals.
