Our Commitment to Accessibility
Veterans Room is committed to ensuring that our website and telehealth platform are accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities. Every veteran who served this country deserves equal access to quality mental health care, and that starts with an accessible digital experience.
Standards We Follow
We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines help ensure our content is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for all users, regardless of ability or assistive technology.
What We're Doing
- Providing text alternatives for non-text content
- Ensuring sufficient color contrast throughout the interface
- Supporting keyboard navigation and screen readers
- Using semantic HTML and ARIA landmarks where appropriate
- Designing responsive layouts that work across devices and zoom levels
- Testing with assistive technologies including NVDA, VoiceOver, and JAWS
Ongoing Effort
Accessibility is not a one-time project. It's a continuous commitment. We regularly audit our platform, train our team on inclusive design practices, and incorporate user feedback to improve the experience.
Known Limitations
While we work to ensure full accessibility, some third-party content or legacy features may not yet meet all WCAG 2.1 AA criteria. We are actively working to address these gaps.
