What HIPAA Means for You
HIPAA establishes national standards for the protection of individually identifiable health information. As a covered entity, Veterans Room implements administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all protected health information (PHI).
How We Comply
- All telehealth sessions are conducted over HIPAA-compliant, encrypted video
- Patient records are stored in SOC 2 Type II certified environments
- Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) are in place with all vendors
- Staff complete annual HIPAA training and security awareness programs
- We maintain a designated Privacy Officer and Security Officer
Your Rights Under HIPAA
- Access your health records and request copies
- Request amendments to your records
- Receive an accounting of disclosures
- Request restrictions on certain uses of your information
- File a complaint if you believe your rights have been violated
Breach Notification
In the unlikely event of a data breach involving your PHI, we will notify you in accordance with HIPAA Breach Notification Rule requirements: promptly, transparently, and with clear guidance on next steps.
