How DBT Works

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy was originally developed for individuals with intense emotional responses and difficulty regulating emotions. It has since been adapted for veterans dealing with PTSD, suicidal ideation, substance use, and emotional dysregulation.

DBT balances acceptance and change. You learn to accept your experiences while simultaneously building skills to change harmful patterns. The four core skill modules, mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness, give you a practical toolkit for daily life.
