Service Is a Family Endeavor

Deployment, PCS moves, reintegration, and the long shadow of trauma reach far beyond the service member. Spouses hold things together. Parents wait by the phone. Adult children carry what was never said.

Our providers work with the veteran-affiliated family — alone, as a couple, or as part of a veteran’s broader care plan — using approaches like Cognitive-Behavioral Conjoint Therapy that have been tested with military families.

What to Expect in Online Therapy

1

Share your story

Talk about your relationship to service — your own, your partner’s, your parent’s — and what is hardest right now.

Clinical assessment

Clarify what you are dealing with: caregiver stress, relationship strain, your own mental health, or all of the above.

Build your plan

Together, decide whether to work individually, as a couple, or alongside the veteran’s care.

2

Build new patterns

Replace the cycles that built up during deployment, transition, or trauma.

Rebuild trust & connection

Repair what got strained without pretending it didn’t happen.

Care for yourself

Reclaim the parts of your life that got put on hold.

3

Stay connected

Maintain the patterns and skills that took work to build.

Navigate next chapters

Apply what you have learned to retirement, second careers, or new family roles.

Continued access

Step down to less frequent sessions or come back when life shifts.
