Grief Carries Differently for Those Who Served

Losing someone you served with is a kind of loss most civilians never have to make sense of. The same is true for losing a parent, a spouse, or a sense of purpose after the uniform comes off.

Our providers work with veterans through bereavement, anniversary reactions, survivor guilt, and the slower kind of grief that builds when life keeps moving and the loss does not.

What to Expect in Online Therapy

Share your story

Name who or what was lost, when, and what is hardest about carrying it now.

Clinical assessment

Standardized screenings help distinguish bereavement from prolonged grief or co-occurring depression.

Build your plan

Together, set goals that fit how you actually want to grieve.

2

Work through avoidance

Approach the parts of the loss that have felt off-limits, at your pace.

Re-engage life

Behavioral activation rebuilds connection with people, routines, and meaning.

Honor what was

Find ways to hold the memory without letting it hold you.

3

Anniversary planning

Build coping plans for the dates that will keep coming.

Life integration
